Currency Meter Installation Guide – 3.0

by Henry Liu on March 16, 2010

Here’s what you need to do to install CSM 3.0, if you do not have a previous version installed, you can start on to Step 2.

Step 1: Uninstall previous versions of CSM.  Go to Windows –> Settings –> Control Panel –> Program & Features –> Uninstall “Newsprofiteer”

Step 2: Download CSM 3.0 by going to the Download Page, then save the file Currency+Strength+Meter.msi on your desktop (or anywhere you want)

Step 3: Double Click on the meter and it will Launch a Registration Screen, please enter your information and then click on “Register Your Account”:

That’s it, it should work flawlessly.

Thanks,

Henry

Hi Henry,
really great great currency meter. i have been using it for the last week with great success but i have just downloaded your latest update v3.0.3 which was working great. But now it seems to be frozen only the strenght meter not the london, new york, sydney or tokyo lights, and the news count down is also working.
i have rebooted my comp and i have reinstalled the program aswell. but the currency meter is still frozen, the thing is it was working fine when i started the latest version
thanks again for your currency meter great work

I only have 32 bit windows xp and all I am getting is blue squares instead of numbers. This new version looks awesome and I would love to use it. Can you please help me.

Hi Chris, CSM 3.0 should work fine with a 32-bit windows XP. We have tested it in several 32-bit XP computers and have worked just fine. Please check this post to see if it helps: http://www.fxanswer.com/anova/answers/why-there-isn-t-currency-strenght-indicator-after-installed-the-new-version-3.html

Hi Henry –

I run more than one MT4 platform on the same computer. Which one will CSM connect to for its data feed? Any way to control that?

Thanks for what looks like a great tool

I really appreciate all your efforts. I just started using the CSM and it was fantastic in my first trade but i just want to ask if it works perfectly on alpari as that of the fxdd. Thanks

Emmanuel, it should work as long as it is MT4 platform. New version 3.0 will not require MT4.

Yes I should have paid closer attention to the install instructions, maybe a slight modification to the data stream code and you could make the next version be a stand alone application, now that would be a seller!!!

So I am using Trade Navigator Platinum not MT4, guess I am out of luck with this one. To bad I can see the benefit of having this in combination with Technical trading.

Yes don’t worry, V3 is coming out which will no longer require MT4.

Hi Henry
Left a note on the download side and also trying here. Use Smart Live Spreadbet through MT4. Computer runs windows XP pro. Loaded CSM as per instructions. Only thing wrong is I did not get an open account screen when loading. All I get on the indicator is blank blue boxes which dont tell me a lot. Maybe I need to leave it on for a week or so to collect dat, I am not sure. Not very impressed so far but lets see if you can help.

Glen, please follow the instructions step by step. Use FXDD to test and making sure it works first then you can try other brokers…

Hi,
I downloaded the “meter”, then I run the setup program and got a “Newsprofiteer.exe” some where on my hard drive (I know where) but …
How I establish a link between this Newsprofiteer program and my MT4 Broker in order to supply quotations to this Fx meter program ? Where have I to implement the Fx meter program ?
TIA
Arnaud

You have to enable the DDE Server function in your MT4 and it will establish link automatically.

Hi Henry, i have 2 MT4 accounts oanda (live) and fxdd (demo), however the strength meter reads different values depending on which MT4 account is open. Is it safe to assume that the CSM is giving me the indicators based on the info from each specific broker account?

Reply

Moderator May 23, 2011 at 1:42 pm

Wakil, the meter gets the data directly from the MT4 broker that you use, and therefore the data may be slightly different depending on the broker that you use.
